Chaotic|Darthor wrote a full article explaining this, which I'll copy below, but to sum it up, we're giving you, our amazing Chaotic Community, the chance to work together to build a brand new Chaotic card! When completed, this card will be put into an upcoming set AND featured on the Chaotic TV show!
The first question we're posing to you is which type of card you'd like this to be - Creature, Attack, Battlegear, Mugic or Location. A poll is up in the forums that will allow you to vote on which card type you want this card to be. Click here to go and vote on the poll. Your opinions will shape the future of this card, so choose carefully!

"Hello Chaotic community, and welcome to this week’s Codemaster Chronicles. This article is going to be the first in a series of articles in which you, the fans of Chaotic, will work together to design and build a Chaotic card. This card will then be put into a Chaotic set and appear on the TV show. How awesome is that?
So let me explain how this is going to work. Each article we’ll put some options out there for the community to vote or offer ideas on. Then in the following article we’ll discuss how the vote or ideas turned out and what that means for the card you are all designing. Then I’ll list some more decisions you need to make together. We’ll repeat this until everything we need for card design is complete.
Here’s what I’m thinking the article topics and schedule will probably look like:
- 1st Article: Card Type (Creature, Attack, Battlegear, Mugic, or Location)
- 2nd Article: Tribe and Role (Not just Creatures need a tribe or role, maybe the answer will be generic or for everyone. What does role mean. You’ll have to wait to the next article to see).
- 3rd Article: Create Ability Text (this might take more than one article)
- 4th Article: Flavor Text (if the card ends up being a creature this will probably be where we choose disciplines, energy, and elements)
- 5th Article: Wrap-up and Card Name
So the choice in front of you today is Card Type. Chaotic has five card types, Creatures, Attacks, Battlegear, Mugic, and Locations. Which one do you want to make?
- Creatures are the characters you know so well from the show and card game. They are the stars. Maybe we’ll make a cool new Creature.
- Attacks are the way battles in Chaotic are won. 9 times out of 10 when one creature defeats another creature or someone wins the game its done with an Attack Card.
- Battlegear are the cool equipment that Chaotic creatures take into battle. It could be a cool new piece of armor or maybe some devastating weapon. The choice is up to you.
- Mugic is the tool of the master player. There is nothing that mugic can’t accomplish. If you decide to make a mugic you better watch out because there are no limits on what we might make (well okay, there is one limit - the name has to have a music term in it)
- Locations are where all the action takes place. Perim is full of unexplored or amazing landscape (layout humor) that we could represent in a Location card.
The Codemasters in game design will work with the community to make sure that a card isn’t created that would hurt the game. We’ll tweak numbers or ideas if necessary but I promise you we’ll stay true to the spirit and vision of the most popular ideas. After the last article when we have a completed design, we’ll report on playtest results (and any changes found to be necessary), artwork, and so on. If all goes well I think we can have this card in a Chaotic Set before the end of the year.
Choose wisely Chaotic fans. This is your chance to make a piece of Chaotic history.
